Responsibilities

  • Help the PT in all aspects of patient care
  • Under the guidance of the PT, perform therapy techniques/exercises
  • Measure and track patient progress, informing PT of all changes
  • Provide patients with needed continued care information
  • Assist the Physical Therapist in patient handling, treatment, and management
  • Carry out techniques and exercises prescribed by Physical Therapist
  • Keep Physical Therapist up-to-date on changes in patient progress
  • Help measure and track intervention effectiveness
  • Educate the patient on continuing care

Skills & Qualifications

  • Valid PTA license or certification with current registration in Delaware.
  • Proven experience working in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health environments.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy.
  • Familiarity with care planning processes for diverse populations such as geriatrics and pediatrics.
  • Hands-on experience with orthopedic rehabilitation, geriatrics, sports injuries, and acute care cases is highly desirable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds while demonstrating compassion and professionalism.

FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers – North Wilmington is looking to grow our clinical team with the addition of a full time Physical Therapist (DPT).

FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers is a national brand with ~650 locations around the United States. Our PT practice offers full-spectrum orthopedic PT but our differentiation is on Balance and Vestibular Therapy. If you’re looking for a change while also looking to deepen your skills and certification scope, FYZICAL offers free Continuing Education utilizing our own internal FYZICAL College learning platform.
Note – don’t worry if you don’t have a background in vestibular, as it’s part of our clinical onboarding process.

Overview

This role is full-time, in-person in our brand new state of the art North Wilmington clinic. Your expertise will help patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve overall quality of life through personalized care plans. Responsibilities

  • Assess patients’ physical conditions by conducting comprehensive evaluations of physiology, anatomy, and movement patterns.
  • Develop and implement tailored care plans that incorporate evidence-based physiotherapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and orthopedics.
  • Deliver hands-on therapy sessions focused on improving mobility, strength, and function for patients across all age groups, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
  • Manage patient care documentation efficiently using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Educate patients and their families about injury prevention, recovery strategies, and home & community care practices to promote ongoing wellness.
  • Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment strategies to optimize outcomes in outpatient, inpatient, or home health environments.

Experience

  • Proven experience in physiotherapy within acute care hospitals, outpatient clinics, or home health settings – we are placing an emphasis on prior experience in the outpatient setting.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy relevant to diverse patient populations.
  • Hands-on experience with discharge planning, care plans development, and implementing physiotherapy interventions such as trigger point therapy.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and patient management.
  • Background working with pediatric and geriatric patients in both inpatient and outpatient contexts is highly desirable.
