Responsibilities

• Answer phones, serve as a patient liaison, and respond to questions from potential or current patients
• Schedule patients and coordinate evaluations, re-evaluations, appointment reminders, and cancellations
• Verify insurance benefits, obtain necessary authorizations, and track insurance-covered visit
• Communicate with the office manager and clinicians about scheduling and patient arrival
• Collect new patient intake information and track all patient referrals
• Collect patient copayments and coinsurance payments
• Communicate information to patients, serving as a liaison between patients and physicians
• Fax reports to physicians and log incoming reports
• Perform other assigned tasks as needed

Skills & Qualifications

• Spanish speaker is a plus
• High School Diploma/ GED equivalent
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and other employees
• Must have a team mentality and flexibility
• Willingness to learn about health insurance, pre-authorization, insurance verification, medical terminology, CPT and ICD codes
• Excellent customer service skills and effective communication abilities
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and demanding work environment
• Attention to detail and a commitment to consistent customer satisfaction
• Must exercise good judgment and discretion
• Proficient with technology and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products, including Google Documents, Word, and Excel.
