Responsibilities

  • Examine and evaluate new patients
  • Diagnose patients; evaluate physical activity limitations
  • Create a plan that sets a goal and completion date
  • Prescribe patients with PT intervention techniques/exercises
  • Measure and track intervention effectiveness
  • Provide education to patients on techniques for the continuation of care
  • Establish a diagnosis of condition or conditions and their impact on activity
  • Establish a plan goal and time frame
  • Educate the patient on continuing care

Skills & Qualifications

  • Accredited PT program graduate (CAPTE approved physical therapy program – bachelors, master’s or doctorate in physical therapy)
  • Current or eligible for Maryland state physical therapist licensure.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a physical therapist in an outpatient setting.
  • Ability to perform initial evaluations, re-evaluations, and discharge evaluations.
  • Construct and deploy evidence-based treatment programs within the therapist’s scope of practice and knowledge base.
  • Able to create and implement outpatient balance and vestibular rehabilitation-setting treatment plans.
  • 1+ year(s) of outpatient experience in treating patients who have vestibular, balance, neurological, orthopedic and fall risk issues.
  • Supervise PTAs, technicians, and students.
  • Ability to work efficiently/effectively in an autonomous environment as well as team-based setting.
  • Experience in supporting outreach / marketing activities.
  • Must be self-motivated with a willingness to learn.
  • Experience in pelvic floor therapy and Dry needling experience is a plus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Experience or interest in treating balance and vestibular patients.
