Responsibilities
- Examine and evaluate new patients
- Diagnose patients; evaluate physical activity limitations
- Create a plan that sets a goal and completion date
- Prescribe patients with PT intervention techniques/exercises
- Measure and track intervention effectiveness
- Provide education to patients on techniques for the continuation of care
- Establish a diagnosis of condition or conditions and their impact on activity
- Establish a plan goal and time frame
- Educate the patient on continuing care
Skills & Qualifications
- Accredited PT program graduate (CAPTE approved physical therapy program – bachelors, master’s or doctorate in physical therapy)
- Current or eligible for Maryland state physical therapist licensure.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a physical therapist in an outpatient setting.
- Ability to perform initial evaluations, re-evaluations, and discharge evaluations.
- Construct and deploy evidence-based treatment programs within the therapist’s scope of practice and knowledge base.
- Able to create and implement outpatient balance and vestibular rehabilitation-setting treatment plans.
- 1+ year(s) of outpatient experience in treating patients who have vestibular, balance, neurological, orthopedic and fall risk issues.
- Supervise PTAs, technicians, and students.
- Ability to work efficiently/effectively in an autonomous environment as well as team-based setting.
- Experience in supporting outreach / marketing activities.
- Must be self-motivated with a willingness to learn.
- Experience in pelvic floor therapy and Dry needling experience is a plus.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
- Experience or interest in treating balance and vestibular patients.
