Position Overview

The Business Development Associate will initially focus on physician liaison activities, developing relationships with healthcare providers and generating new patient referrals.
As the business grows, the role will expand into broader business development initiatives, including strategic partnerships, community outreach, marketing campaigns, and new growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Physician Relations & Referral Development

  • Build and maintain relationships with primary care physicians, orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, pain management specialists, and other healthcare providers.
  • Conduct regular in-person visits to physician offices throughout Northwest Houston.
  • Educate referral partners on FYZICAL’s services, specialties, and patient care offerings.
  • Identify and develop new referral sources while strengthening existing relationships.
  • Coordinate with clinic leadership to ensure a seamless referral experience.

Business Development & Growth

  • Identify opportunities to increase patient referrals and expand market presence.
  • Develop partnerships with local businesses, healthcare organizations, and community groups.
  • Assist with outreach campaigns, promotional initiatives, and community events.
  • Research prospective referral partners and new business opportunities.
  • Support additional growth initiatives as the organization expands.

Relationship Management & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activity, referral sources, and follow-ups.

Qualifications

What you’ll do

On clinic days, you’ll be the PT in the building — evaluating new patients, designing their plans of care, and running the visits that genuinely need a PT. Our PTA handles the bulk of ongoing follow-ups and our lead PT focuses on patient care, so your day stays squarely on the high-value work: evaluations, plan design, and the patients who specifically need PT-level treatment.

  • Active Texas PT license (or license-eligible). 1+ year of outpatient experience is a plus, but we’ll talk to strong newer grads who are ready to run their own day.
  • Comfortable with a mixed adult outpatient caseload — mostly ortho/MSK, with some neuro and balance/vestibular.
  • Strong patient communication. Every patient should leave their first visit knowing the plan, how many visits it’ll take, and why it matters.
  • Organized with documentation. We run on Prompt EMR — fast and clean, not the documentation slog you may have had elsewhere.
  • Self-directed and team-aware — you’ll work directly with our PTA and front desk, and coordinate asynchronously with our lead PT on shared patients.

What you’ll do

You’ll be the clinician our patients see most — delivering the hands-on treatment that moves them through their recovery. The Physician Liaison will regularly visit doctors’ offices, clinics, and medical practices to educate providers and staff about our services, ensure smooth communication, and address referral needs. This is not a remote or online role—it requires being active in the community, making face-to-face connections, and effectively communicating the value of our programs and patient care.

Training will be provided, and you will have the flexibility to choose your hours within Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct in-person visits to physician offices, clinics, and referral sources on a flexible schedule you set (between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday).

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with physicians, practice managers, and office staff.

  • Educate providers and their teams about clinic services, treatment programs, and patient outcomes.

  • Serve as the main point of contact by phone, email or text for referring providers, ensuring smooth communication and timely follow-up.

  • Identify and develop new referral opportunities to grow the clinic’s network.

  • Collect feedback from providers to help improve the referral and patient experience.
